This is to inform you about the measures we are taking in these uncertain times. The global COVID-19 pandemic is affecting all of us. It has an impact on our families and beloved ones, our businesses, and the daily routine we use to live and work.
First of all, our thoughts are with anyone who has been impacted by the virus. For those who are ill: we wish you a full and rapid recovery. We are deeply grateful for the healthcare workers and, more generally, all people who care for people in need.
The Dutch authorities have announced that the dairy industry, as a part of the food industry, is of crucial importance. As such, Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods, together with other members of the Dutch Dairy Association, is on the list of crucial professional groups. The underlying purpose is that all consumers retain access to nutritious and healthy food. This implies that even in the event of a complete lockdown, the Dutch government will safeguard the continuation of our vital processes
As part of this responsibility, our first priority is always the health and well-being of our own staff, our customers, associated workforce i.e. milk drivers, and our dairy farmers.
For Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods, the vital functions are milk collection, milk powder processing and milk powder distribution. We ensure that we are continuously up to date with the latest instructions and recommendations of the relevant institutions and experts. We are pro-active and reactive so that we can immediately implement measures according to the latest updates and actual insights. All the measures we take are designed to stop the coronavirus from spreading.
The following measures currently taken include but are not limited to the following:
⦁ Social distancing
We strictly apply our rigid hygiene and safety protocols. This includes a general distancing rule. On our premises all people should keep a distance of at least 1.5m to each other.
⦁ Work from home
When the specific discipline so allows, we work from home! Only staff in vital processes and supporting key functions are allowed to be on site. All other staff and visitors are denied access to our premises.
⦁ Strict procedures
At our production sites we apply strict procedures for our staff and associated workforce.
⦁ Additional measures
We have installed additional hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting facilities for all disciplines.
All measures are compliant with EU and national food and hygiene legislation and apply over and above our current hygiene and safety protocols.
We are in contact with relevant authorities and associations in order to prepare ourselves in good time for next-level scenarios.
We take and will continue to take additional measurements above the statutory requirements needed to stop the virus from spreading and/or safeguard our vital processes.
On behalf of the Management Team and Directors I would like to thank our customers, our staff, our dairy farmers and other stakeholders for their dedication and trust. I am extremely proud of and grateful for your engagement and care for each other.
We invite you to keep addressing your personal concerns and we are happy to receive your suggestions.
The period ahead of us requires collective effort and cooperation. We are confident that we are able to keep up with and adjust to the latest developments. You can rest assured that we will keep our promise “We bring you the best of milk”.
With warm regards,
Albert de Groot
CEO of Vreugdenhil Dairy Foods
